I have a 1997 clk 230 kompressor sport which when you switch the air con on only the right hand fan starts. Ive put a power source to the left hand fan and it runs ok but just not on its own. Sides given are when sat in car any ideas please.

This could be the 2 stage set up,,and the second fan does not start till the temp is 110c when the air con is on

If you care to pop up the VIN numbers after 208

The weather being cooler right could be the reason

with the number I will take an exact look for you

Just found this old thread and I had a similar question - as it is obviously colder still at this time of year, is it possible that A/C (in general terms) would operate without either fan having to be on? I ask as I have another vehicl in the family which is doing just this.

Oh yes they are controlled by both temp and pressure, the fan only comes on when needed and does not run all the time
