Air conditioning not covered under MB guarantee it seems.

Bought 3-yr old car from MB Canterbury last January. Recently thought air-con seemed on the weak side. Booked in to same dealership today and on arrival told air-conditioning would not be covered under my 12 months MB guarantee. Even if they simply took a look and did diagnostics it would cost £195. If anything needed doing then a further payment needed. I told them to stop and go no further. However since I was there (and booked in) they did the free visual health check and discovered that one of the TPMS valves was faulty and unable to check or correct pressure on that tyre and would need replacing. I now wait to be told if it would be covered under guarantee - does anyone know??!!
Anyway I will report back when advised yes/no and/or cost, not to mention what their appointment book looks like.
I may be paying a visit to my trusted indie!

Buy from stealership but trust your Indie for maintenance on anything outside a new warranty...

Oh, dear!
At this rate their gold plated warranty sounds as though it’s going down the pan, do they realise this is the reason why most buy secondhand from them and are prepared to pay the 10% premium

Just checked the t&cs for my MB Extended Warranty and no mention of aircon being excluded

Possibly something to discuss in the showroom on a very busy day..... Very loudly

Go to the dealership with the T and C and put it on the table, ask them to point out the exclusion.
Escalate to MB UK.
As said full of halwits.
