I have a 2017 W213 220d that I have posted about on here previously.

The car has sounded louder than normal as though there has been an exhaust leak, today however I have the loud noise accompanied with an escape of air noise under acceleration which I am thinking may be a loose hose, damaged hose etc also when I turn off the car even after a short journey the fan kicks in and I can feel a lot of heat emanating from underneath the car.

Any ideas anyone??

Split intercooler hose. It will make a lot more soot so you'll be doing far more regens so get it fixed sooner rather than later.

Hi mate I haven't noticed increase in soot but my mpg is poorer than normal.
Would the split hose result in a louder engine sound almost as though there was a blow from the exhaust ?

Had the car looked at today it turns out the air box was not seated correctly this was causing the noise, all fixed now and car appears to be fine and sounding much quieter
