Air-vent illumination, W124

Minor issue, with my W124 E220 estate (1993): how do you change the light bulb (I assume there is one) for the passenger-side air-vent control wheel? Can't find any instructions in the usual maintenance manuals and there is no obvious access on the facia/dashboard panel.

You need to remove the vent itself. Look closely between the slats and you'll see four little spring clips, they need to be pulled inwards and the vent will come out. :)
