I have a 2001 clk 320 can anyone help me with info on how to remove air con unit and plastic housing

You could buy a Haynes manual for £20 , always worth getting if you contemplate something complicated .
I always buy one when I get a new second hand car

Firstly you need to get it degassed, it’s under pressure and shouldn’t be dissipated to atmosphere.

Are you talking compressor, condensor or something else?
