Have had an airmatic fault light come on and car was riding low at front had a mechainic put it on Star, diagnosed front strut and valve needs replacing (Merc apparently have no stock in UK in Germany and have sold 234 this year) so I sourced one from Dronsfield, arrived next day (great service) mechanic came back and fitted the replacement, but after staying till 10pm last night the drivers side still refuses to lift.

Mechanic didnt charge me at all ( Iwas prepared to pay) as he couldnt fix the fault, the pump works but he is stumped.

Does anyone know another reason why this is happening, and is it OK to drive it to MBS so the guys there can have a look, I live in Oxford so it is a 70 mile trip

Many Thanks

I wonder if it could be a fault with the valve block.

If you are a member of a breakdown service have them take it to MB, it would be much safer than driving

i too wonder about the valve body, which is located next to the pump, they can fail! it would be worth disconnecting the pressure supply at the strutt and measuring the pressure applied here.

Drove it to MBS (gingerly !!), Cole scratched his head a bit, I nervously puffed on a cigarette or two, then at last hey presto !! Car was all level again, dont know who was more relieved me or Cole !!

Just wish they were nearer to Oxford, may be I should persuade the wife that we ought to move to the coast !!

Many thanks Cole and for fitting me in so quickly !!

So did it rise before you got to Oxford or did the garage repair it and what was the fault?
