hi everyone,my problem is quite simple to explain,i hope the cure is too,when i press the key fob there is no red or green light at the rear view mirror,car had a new battery last month,and new key fob batterys yesterday.as i cant drive the car i hope someone can help real soon.thanks in anticipation,stan.

immobilizer problems
hi all,first an apology,i had the wrong info so il start again...,car belongs to my cousins wife and is a N reg 2.5 non turbo diesel,upon pressing the fob nothing happens car will crank but not fire,mecedes suggested new fob,purchased said fob,same result.tried recalibrating it.leds flash intermitantly,still wont start.sunday RAC called out,3hours later after being on the phone for an hour to 25 year mercedes veteran he admitted defeat and left with his hair in dissaray.mercedes want her to take it to them for diagnostics,which will mean transporting it there.she purchased this car because she liked mine so much,and she adored it,now after a new battery,new exhaust and various other costly problems and being without her car for 3 weeks she wants rid of it when its sorted and is going back to a reliable mondeo.can any one suggest a good independent,preferably with call out facilitys in the west yorkshire area,thanx.

just a small observation , the word 'reliable' and 'mondeo' dont go together , the mercedes is a much more reliable car mechanically , just seems like a bit of bad luck , electric issues are always a pain to sort out. it sounds like either the fob hasnt calibrated properly or the immobiliser itself has packed up.
