I have a Mercedes Benz fitted alarm system (made by Scorpion and a 6918 model / 1994) fitted to my E200 T (also 1994) which I have owned for almost twelve years now. In all that time, the alarm has worked really well.

However, after a recent service at a Mercedes Benz specialist garage, when the alarm was turned off and back on again for servicing purposes, the alarm appears to have lost it's memory. I say this because it works but takes about 20 seconds to engage. If immediately turned off or on again, the system engages immediately. Left for more than two or three minutes, the memory in the unit seems to need to reset itself.

I wondered if anyone on the forum had had a similar experience and knew of a fix - the obvious alternative is to rip it out and install a new system. If that is the case, does anyone have any particularly high recommendations for a good (vacuum) system.

Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome.

The Scorpian is coming to the end of its life, and many are being removed now.

There is no direct connection with the vacuum system, and only the electrical output from any alarm would do the job.

The remotes have not been available for a long time

i throw at least one in the bin each month, got it down to a fine art.

do you just want remote locking? there must be some basic system available for not much that can piece into your vacuum system (that`s what the scorpion does)

Thanks for the info guys - the system currently has just the central locking on it (not the self closing windows / roof on some of the more expensive options). I think it's time to rip it out and start again.

Taking it out is not so hard,,you have the same colour coded wires to connect up to make it as it was, and add something from there
