Has anyone here ever refurbed alloys?
I have 15" AMGs on mine and they really look rough. Not curbed, just oxidised and scabby.
I was just wondering how hard it is to clean them up and re-lacquer them.
Any good brands of product to get rid of the oxide?
Any good sprays for lacquering?
Or is it best to pay the man and get it done properly?

I had my 17" AMG's refurbed.

To be honest mine weren't that bad, but having them done was not something I regretted.

It made me realise, bad before they were not, but perfect they were not either.

Just for the sheen alone of the laqeur on the "new" wheels it was worth it.

If your wheels are oxidised and tatty, then go for it.

If you are at all in the vacinity of Hemel Hempsted, I can recommend somewhere very cheap, if not post your location and I am sure someone will help.

Some after pics....I had the polished lips on my AMG's painted for easy future keeping....

I know Hemel, I used to go to school in Berkhamsted. So I can make it over there. I live near High Wycombe, so if anyone knows anywhere in that area that is good and well priced- that would be cool. It seems that it varies anything from £30 a wheel to close to £100.
Obviously cheap is good, but I don't want a cowboy job that flakes off in a year!

In that case, I 100% recommend BVJ Engineering

It's where I had mine done, the 4x17" for less than £140, including removing refitting and balancing of tyres. Your 15"s will be less.

Only trouble is you need to have the wheels off the car to give to them, they do not handle vehicles, only wheels.

They collect from a local radius too.

Best to leave the wheels in to get them done, bye the time you buy paint and primer and spend hours rubbing them down you will wish you had.

I left four BMW wheels in to get painted and it only cost £80.Well worth it.
