Hi All,

I'm looking to change my 19'' alloys on my 2014 E250. In the fuel cap it has various tyre sizes and tyre pressures from 16" upto my 19" can I use any mercedes wheels with these sizes on my E Class? I would really like to drop to 17" or 18".
Can I use alloys off the likes of c class on my car in the above sizes are they interchangeable across the range.

Thanks

You can fit a variety of wheels to your car providing you keep the "rolling radius" very close to the original (ie smaller wheels will require a tyre with a taller side wall profile). You also need to maintain the same off-set or "ET" value. Ignore these things and you stand every chance of upsetting most of the safety and convenience functions of your car - and possibly its legality.

Look for the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) for the front axle on the sticker inside the drivers door frame.
That signifies the total weight that can be carried across the axle. Divide that by 2 and that is your load rating on each front wheel.
The tyre will also indicate its maximum load on the sidewall.

C class alloys can be used on an E class provided the offsets etc are in parameter and going with a smaller wheel won't interfere with the brake caliper.
If the size is listed on alloywheelsdirect. net site for your car, they should fit.

I would ask MB what options on wheels were avaialble for your car. You can even see this on the numerous online parts portals.
Be sure to inform your insurance co.

18" are not bad they are my summer wheels, & I have 17" for winter wheels which I prefer. My winters are 245/45R17 all round, the wheel is 8J x17" ET48.

Nah, they drive fine, no problems at all. :)
You spend more time cleaning yours than you do driving… ;) So I can understand having nice rims to look at whilst throwing a bucket of water over it:p:cool:

Hi there all I'm new to the Forum as I've just added a 2008 Mercedes CL to my fleet. I'm posting here because I'm thinking of changing the wheels on my CL from 17" to 19" so may be of interest to the OP. I'll attach a (showroom) pic of the wheels so you can see which type they are and the condition.
