I suppose if all else fails you can drill off the bolt heads but I'm sure it'll be fiddly. Basic way is to start with a small drill bit dead centre (punch it first) then work up to a drill diameter just larger than (or prpefereably the same size as) the thread diameter. When you get to the end of the head the remains of the head will come away and you can take off the wheel. The remains of the thread should unscrew easily after you tap it a couple of times with a hammer.

I had to do it once to a pulley bolt, but that was an allen key type which meant it was easy to drill down the centre. Plus it was a softer metal than would be a wheel nut.

On second thoughts therefore have you tried asking Kwikfit et al whether they can help?

rather than drill the whole bolt out - use some stud removers, drill a hole, wind them in and out comes the bolt. That's the "elegant" solution

alternatively, find a socket that almost fits on the locking nut and them hammer it on - this is the universally accepted way of removing locking nuts quickly - takes about 30 seconds a bolt once you get the hang of it and makes you wonder why we waste money on wheel locks.

I take it that you've checked in all the recesses at the back of the car just to make sure there is no key in there?

I did notice the other day that halfords sell a socket just for this job.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So even if you have more than one locking nut on as some people do, the theives just use one of these sockets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes, its also good if you have lost or aint got the key to yours!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Have you tried to contact the previous owner ( on the V5)? He may have the locking nuts or know where they are.

Sealey and others, do kits just for this purpose. Is the car driveable? It might be that you could go to your local fast-fit centre, I bet they come across this issue all the time. No doubt they would have an appropriate kit and could remove your locking bolts and replace them with others, for a nominal fee.
