Just picked up my C200k A/G Sport and a few of the wheels are bubbling. Is this common? My dealer thinks they might be covered under the guarantee????

This is strange as my In laws "Lexi" has the same problem and there's is a 2005 too. Lexus said they would replace the faulty wheels FOC.

Hi

I have this problem with my e class alloys. All 4 wheels have this ‘bubbling’ – in technical terms know as corrosion! I asked on this forum for advice about getting them replaced under the 30 yr rust guarantee and many members were not positive that Mercedes would do this.

Well, upon my first attempt they were correct. Mercedes took photos but a week or 2 later refused. After a few days of brewing on this emailed the MD of Mercedes who passed this onto the Manager of my local Mercedes. After the Manager of my local MB took pics, the next day got a calling saying they would pay for 80% of the cost leaving me to pay £170 ish.

So, don’t give up and don’t let them fob you away!

Let us know how you get on, you never know you may get the full 100%!.

Len

I had notification that MB are replacing ALL the wheels under warranty. I'll let you know when it's done. :p

That's brilliant news! I would have had the 100% from Merc's but as one of the alloys had a slight 'kerb' mark on it they said that I would have needed to replace this soon anyway!

Anyway, well done !

Dropped in my car in the week for the new wheels. I was told they would phone me when they were fitted but guess what... this did not happen. I phoned 4 hours later to be told "Oh yes it's done for you Sir". WELL WHERE WAS MY F*****G PHONE CALL TELLING ME !?!?:evil::evil::evil:

When I collected the car it had nice new wheels but the mechanic had left his scutty oily fingerprints all over them. I was not happy and asked for them to be cleaned. :-x

This is the sort of attention to detail I was expecting from a company like MB, everything exact. But no, just do enough to do the job and that's it!

My old car was an Audi and my local dealer was spot on every time. That's 1 nil to Audi.
