Hi

I just bought a W202.128 (C250TD) from 1998. The cigaret lighter is out of order, and I desperately need to get my GPS up and running.

Is there another source of 12V available somewhere inside the car? ...possibly some DIN plug in which I can use a converter of some sorts?

Best regards, Jens

Hello and welcome, the radio live feed should be OK to tap into, but do use an inline fuse (always best) even if the cigar lighter is out of order the wire going to it should be OK

Thanks!

I have found out, that the module with ashtray and lighter was not connected to the power-plug behind the module. As I searched around to discover this, I broke a wire to the female part of the lighter. To repair (solder) this, in turn, I need to get out the whole module containing the ashtray and lighter, but I can't figure out how! ...it's fixed somehow in the bottom part.

Solution to the GPS problem: I just use the power-plug that wasn't plugged into the ashtray module, and connect a new female cigar lighter plug to this... no fuse necessary - there is one in the GPS plug.

Best regards,
Jens
