Alternator/battery light coming on

Well a while ago I reported that my alternator/battery light was coming on all the time and unfortunately I had to give in and have it replaced. Turned out to be an oil leak from near the front cam shaft dropping onto the alternator that was screwing it up. Cost £450 to fix. At least it was cheaper than the Merc garage.

Pleased that you are sorted, but that does sound expensive, as there re conditioned alternators on the market

To be honest Malcom I was so happy it wasn't costing over £500. I know the Merc garage would have charged a lot more. never thought of going the re conditioned route. DOH!

Yes I agree with you, its fixed and you are back to normal and sorry I overlooked the fact that the leak was fixed as well. so a good price :D:D:D:D
