Alternator. change

Hi I hope some one can help I have a 2001 clk 200 kompressor. I am changing the alternator. But I cant see anyway of releasing the tension on the belt or retensioning the belt after I have fitted it?? can any one tell me where it is ???

To be honest I do not know all I do know is I cant seem to find a manual for it :( It has 2 belts if that helps

There should be a tensioner on both belts, it would have an external star and you can use a bar or a socket to move it, its spring loaded/self tensioning, so you just lever it to remove the belt, do your swap, then lever it again to put the new belt on. Its just a smooth pulley with a star piece in the centre. It is an M111 engine, so you will see better from Malcolms epc screen shot if he has one.

I take it it is the one betweeen the crank pully and the water pump as you look down at them :)
