Alternator fuse problem

I had to connect a jump start to my W208 CLK and got it back to front. Now the alternator doesn't charge the battery. There is a slow drain on the battery so after a few days it runs down. To get the boot (trunk) open I have to connect to a connection under the bonnet (hood) whilst doing this in the dark, I got the polarities back to front. The fork I was using to make the connection heated up. I swapped the cables to the correct polarity and opened the trunk, then jumped my car, after running for some time, I noticed that it didn't change my battery, as it usually does. I must have blown a fuze somewhere, but where? I seen a video where there was a special battery connection box fuze in the footwell on the passenger side. I checked, it wasn't there. It makes sense to have a fuze for fools who get the polarities wrong like me. I just need to find it. It's a fairly new battery. When running, I don't get a warning light. Any advice? I do not want to be alarmist but you may well have caused more damage than blowing a fuse, It is possible that the battery itself is damaged or component parts, i would get it checked over personally.

As per above, jump starting can damage the SAM (Signal Acquisition Module (fancy fuse box)) - leading to random faults

Thanks Blobcat

I took her for a two hour drive and now it will start up. Now I just need to find the battery drain.
