The racing bus needs new spark plugs according to the man at MB, nice chap but insisted that i removed the LPG before bringing it in for the work. So thats £2k for removal of LPG, £620+tax for work, £2k for lpg refit. Hmm, might side step that if its all the same to you.
Spoke to a mate, he used to work for the AA and then went to set up a garage and now is a motor craft teacher and still does "homers" over the weekend for £30 per hour. He was happy for the pennies.
£120 for 16 NGK Platinum plugs from A to Z, and two hours labour from the friend. £180, not bad for a spark plug change thinks i.
The end result? It runs lovely, no more going into limp mode or mis-firing. It also feels a tad more spritely but i have no doubt that is psychological because i know it has had work done. Back in love with the racing bus, been abit touch and go for a couple of weeks.
Now next on the list........tyres in 3-4 months, best get saving! and a proper service at some point.
