With no car cleaning to do today (both done Friday), I decided to detail my shower.
I clayed all the tiles and chrome fittings, followed by a polish and wax.
Looks like new, Her indoors very pleased..

Luckily we have a young man that does our oven twice a year..

We've got one of those - he does the oven, hob and surrounding bits and not too expensive considering how much work I've had to do when I've had a go.

When SWMBO asked how to keep it like he was leaving it he said it's quite simple: "Just don't use it!"

Bloke we have charges £60 for one visit, but if you book 2 a year he does it for £50.
It’s not worth buying all the kit and attempting it yourself for that.

Totally agree. It's bad enough cleaning up the garage floor after the shelves have soaked in the chemical - but the guy we have takes them to his van where the sit and self clean. As for doing the rest you're absolute right at £50 a throw it's definitely worth paying to get it done. I'm not sure what SWMBO pays - I'll have to find out!

Pleased my wife does not read this forum, or that would be another job on the "honey do" list! I bought her a steam cleaner and showed her what a superb job it did cleaning our shower - 18 months ago, never been used since!!

I saw a post some considerable time ago where RainX on the shower glass had been tried - successfully - earning the poster many brownie points from his wife.

Sorry no, ours gets done every couple of months by me (muggins), usually includes a quick coat of emulsion on the roof to keep it looking tip-top.
Swmbo loves my detailing work.

Not to brag .. my new oven has pyrolytic cleaning! I was doubtful, but it works. Saves a nasty clean every few months!!

Had a pyrolitic oven for quite a few years now - still have to clean the racks and trays separately though, tried leaving them in once and it took the shiny finish off the racks!
