Ambient Lighting on A200 AMG line Executive model

I recently bought a used 2019 Mercedes A class A200 AMG Line Executive, but I was not able to turn the ambient lighting on the car. I checked the car manual and YouTube and apparently the way you are meant to turn on the ambient lighting is through the "comfort" option in the menu of the infotainment system, but I do not have that available to me.

According to the Mercedes website the AMG Line executive option has 64 colour ambient lighting. Is it a case of a software update that I need to do or does the car not support ambient lighting?

If you are looking at the current model range on the website, it doesn’t mean that it was standard on a 2019 car. Specifications can, and do, change from year to year.

You could run your VIN through a decoder and that might tell you what the car came with.

it always amuses me when a car has the option of 64 colours of ambient lighting .... there's the choice of 3 or 4 on mine, I picked one when I got it & never changed it. If you have 64 colours do you change it every day or week or month .... lol

I guess it is about giving people a choice. With modern addressable LEDs it is a tiny amount of programming to make those choices available to the consumer

Mine has (I think) 3. I set it on red to match the upholstery 5 years ago when it was new and have never changed it again.

Yes… kids used to change mine daily…

I tended to pick reddish in a cold winters morning and blue on a hot summers evening
