Hello.

I joined about 2 years ago when I was contemplating getting my first Merc. But I'm now just about to.

Firstly, has anybody got inside info on exactly when the new shape E Class will be launched?

Cos I'm 95% there to going for :

E320 CDI Sport with Brabus Chip n all the bits, In this colour :

Only problem is I really want these wheels :

  1. Firstly, what is the specific model name or code for those AMG Wheels?
  2. And secondly, the sales guy suspects that they're not going to fit a 2008 E Class, can you clarify this?
  3. And thirdly, I was certain they were produced in 19", but I've spoken with a couple of people and they're saying that was never the case?

Kind regards.

They are AMG style II's. The 18" ones will 100% not fit on a w211, the bolts on the w211 are thicker than the w124,w210 and r129 these wheels were intended for.

They did indeed make a 19" version, for a w140 s-class, these do use thicker bolt, but Ill have to double check if they will fit.

Not the best wheel design for that car IMO, Id go for the 2 piece amg split rims as seen on the sl65.

There are a wide range of MB wheels for the 211. Those, even if they fit, will make your new car look old. If i saw it, I'd think you had your wheels nicked and didn't want to claim so popped down to your local scrapper and put some used ones on - which is what you're going to have to do as they don't actually make them anymore.

Also, 17" are pretty hard (I have them). Personally I wouldn't have a sport as they have 18" wheels and in the UK, that's just plain uncomfortable. 19" - book me in with the chairopractor.

Have a flick through the brochure and pick something made for it.

Absolutely no way.. those wheels were for their time and that time has now passed.. it will make you look like you couldnt afford decent wheels for your new motor ....the wheels in the first pic look chic and cool ......if slightly BMWish..

I think I agree with the previous two postings. Those wheels have a time and a place, and it isn't on a new shape E-Class. It's on a 9 year old W210. See attached.

Thats sterling gents thanks for helping me make my mind up.

You'll have to forgive me though I'm very new to Mercs. Do you mean these :

AMG IV 2piece would be my choice. Very nice.
I still love the 17" 5-twin spokes on the 211 but I guess I'm just old fashioned and to be fair, they are quite common these days.
