AMG Wheels - Damage to wheels

Having damaged /scratched the wheel on my new SLK32 AMG, does anybody please know where I can obtain a touch up paint. Mercedes say purchase a new wheel @ £347 each.

There is a guy in Colnbrook near Slough that is really good at repairing alloys or refurbing...I've known him for years and he has a wide variety of alloys, i was actually looking at some 18" AMG's today.....

Greg , to fit 18" wheels to a c clacc w202 like you have , I'm sure you need to get the wheel arches rolled.

Well , ill put it another way . Brabus wanted to roll my arches for 18" wheels.

I believe these prices are quite competitive: Alloy Wheels Professionally Refurbished (tyresave)

It would be £103 to get the wheel repaired by them, but they would bathe the wheel in acid to remove all the coatings, then lathe/grind the wheel straight, weld any repairs to the rim and then re paint and lacquer with a colour match so it's like brand new again.  This is only really neccessary if the wheel is badly corroded or damaged by impact/stone/kerb etc.  They are in North Wales (not too far from Chester) and are unable to repair wheels by mail-order.

My local paint/body shop were able to re-paint my dad's early 80s porsche wheels with a silver lip and black powder coated spokes (like original).  They came out looking brilliant and it didn't cost very much at all, but they had been previously prepared by another shop that had bead blasted them, so the hard work was already done.

My advice is to try taking the wheels to a body/paint shop of your choice and to see if they will be able to repair them, you might be surprised.

I know a guy based in Wickford, Essex, repairs damaged alloys from £22 a wheel, ive seen the results and they are superb.

My dads next door neighbour has the full AMG treated C240 in Banaba Yellow (ouch i know!) when he got the the front wheels were a tad on the scuffed side...£56 later and they look like new. Ill try and get the number for you if you want it

oh!  oh!  I just remembered that a local mobile paintless dent repair company does wheels too.  They do interior trim repair, paint chip/scratch repair, windscreens, basically a mobile everything shop.  You might have someone like this in your area too, check the yellow pages or some other directory.

I heard that they can do a fix job for about £25 a wheel on a while you wait service as well! Just dont quote me on that!
