Never solved my transmission problem, occasionally (when warm) it bumps when selecting Drive from Neutral.
Today on the expressway I needed to get past cars for the sliproad, so (very unusually for me) foot down hard and transmission changed into third gear (kickdown). It stayed in third gear for too long, knocking the tiptronic got it back right again.
Very unexpected "one-off" behaviour!
I know that the 3-4 solenoid/hydraulic valves are used when selecting Drive from Neutral and this new behaviour is about the 3-4 change.
I know that the EGS52 ETC (TCU) is not the brightest light in the sky - just don't know what's confusing it.
I am mystified. Any ideas good or bad gladly received please.
