Tempting offer so toying with it Blassberg, but 1) my contract's up in a few weeks so I'm being careful until I get the next one sorted, and 2) everyone says "undetectable and no downside" - Almost too good to be true - what is the real downside?
I guess it may be right - after all the new 220cdi is the same bhp as my 270 and I suspect all they've done is tweak the ecu and the 280/320cdi are probably the same mechanically too.

Blassberg,

Be careful of your gearbox, the torque increase is huge. Are you sure the 7 speeder can cope with the extra stress? The 500 petrol engine with the 7 speed box has 510nm torque (same as yours). I'm wondering whether the 320CDI has the same and no more for a reason.

good news - the C43AMG's may be a remap and not a re-chip. Meeting in Warwick soon to assess. That could make 5 definites.
