When does the car make the noise is it when cornering or anytime?

Have you recently had the tyres changed?

Check for stones i the brake disc and dust shield ...jack it up and turn the wheel
i intended to do that tomorrow but it is an intermittant noise so that may not be the cause

Is the handbrake a traditional type ie brake shoes in the back disc hub or an electronic type operating on the rear disc pads?

And another is - You could try spraying all the rubber bushes that you can see under the car ..Also all the rubber in sight it will preserve it for years to come ...the suspension bushes dry out after the wet weathers gone and they dry out . i used silicone spray that comes in a spray tin 1/2 doz should do it ..To find the noise try pressing down on the rear end of the car ...this silicone solved my rubbing and creaking noise

after taking the offside front wheel off,it is the bush at the bottom of the strut which looks iffy and when you bounce the car the noise appears,is it a big job and can you just replace the bush or will you have to replace the arm too.can you recommend a good oem site or will i have to bite the bullet and go to merc, many thanks mick
