After a couple of years BMW M3 motoring, I've managed to lay my hands on a brand new mini-batmobile: a black SLK55. I pick it up next week. As a previous Merc owner (had a W126 S class in the 1990s) to say I'm excited is an understatement! :D

Is there anything I should check for when I take the keys on Tuesday?

Moving from BMW

Hope you're enjoying your new car.

As a recent mover from BMW to Mercedes myself, you will notice some huge differences and I'm not yet sure if I'm a convert.

My move to MB was as much because I don't like any of the current BMW's (except the X5 which has too long a wait and is impractical as a company car due to 35% tax) than it was a desire to have a Merc.

Even though my cars have been more exec cruisers than sports cars, I'm still missing the driver envolvement / handling that you get with all BMW's.

You may find that your mean machine has this sorted and I have to say that the only BMW I've driven that I didn't like was the M3!!!
