Looks ok to me?Your attachment has not downloaded.
There is no obvious chip, really smooth, I had some similar bubbles on the roof panels fixed last year.Looks like a stone chip, water has got underneath and started a bit of corrosion on the aluminium
These bits must be prone to this type of issue, especially has this is the second area to be affected. I suppose it will need to be done at some point. I wonder if the just pull off? Some of this type of trim can be found on eBay.Water has got in from the end of the strip and started corrosion ?
The roof bit was done my mb last year for free, they said as the car was under full mb service plan they would do it.That is quite a common problem with a W204. Mine has that same problem both sides but it hasn't worsened over the last couple of years. You say it was replaced by MB, even though the car is six years old ?
I've been in contact with MB of Cheltenham, I popped down yesterday and had a follow up call today. They started by saying, yes we can fit as part of warranty, I then said great, but when I had informed them that I didn't buy from them, they talked about costs. Looks to be £85 to fit a new bit.
They thought the car was under three years old!! Maybe I should have kept quiet??
They also think Staverton is CheltenhamThat would be a W205 then rather than a W204. What planet were they on ??
I wouldn't mind but the guy I spoke to even took a photo that he said would be passed on the workshop manager, when I rang today he said, ok I will pass on the message and show him the picture I had taken. So nothing happened yesterday!!They also think Staverton is Cheltenham
