Do you have a link to a supplier of the Krytox you use Mic?

How does this stuff differ from Gummi Pflege?

Very different from Gummi Pflege......I do use Gummi on the door and boot seals of the CL and Volvo but Gummi is more of a rubber care product only whereas Krytox also acts as a slip coat.
I have just bought my second 30ml bottle of Krytox in the sum of £45 delivered.....I know that sounds a lot of money for such a small quantity but it does do the job and I still have some left in the first bottle after two applications.

Ask for Ann, she is very user friendly, at GBR Technology Ltd...... 0118 982 0567......it is the Krytox GPL 105 that is required.

Thanks for that Mic

I'm thinking it may be a better product for the window seals on the CLS as they drop every time one opens the door. The top seal is a slip seal and seems to stick slightly

Despite cramming my son into the rear of the car to listen for noises not entirely sure we worked out what it was. all we could find was a minor metall n metal noise coming from the metal hinge joining it to the side of the roof... Opening the roof and pulling the metal against it it has some play in it ..can't get any other noise out of it really despite everything we tried... Got the torx screwdriver out to see if I could tighten it but to no avail. It's as tight as a tight Yorkshiremans wallet when out on a pub crawl ....

Might try wrapping something round it to cushion it just to see if its definitely it though... Not convinced but best guess I can make right now...

The these screws are a type of machine screws with a fixed length shank before the thread starts, all put in with loctite. that make sense,,, the screw will come out but they need a food quality torx bit to do so, and maybe a plastic washer would take out the play

Having 'padded' it a bit the noise is definitely reduced... I was worried about trying to get the thing out as I couldn't tighten it and was concerned about breaking the screw ... Makes sense it was that tight if held in with locate! I will check it out again tomorrow when I get a chance... Checked out with the other side and it is definitely slightly looser than it ...

Then you have the answer, now the car is all sorted, can I buy it back again please

It will not tighten as it has a shoulder on the shank, it will need large thin nylon washers.

Pulling often does nothing, shock is a 1000 times better, like a wheel impact tool
