Any idea where I might get a new firm nylon strip to fit inside the unit of my electric aerial? The mechanism works fine but after 33 years the white nylon strip that pushes the antenna up, and pulls it down, is broken. Car is '69 280 SL, unit is labelled Birschmann Automatic Antenne type 461 369535 12V Auto 6000 U. Seems a shame to buy a complete new unit for the sake of the nylon cord. Fingers crossed!

Antenna problem

I had a problem with my electric aerial mast about two months back. Expecting large bills, I was surprised when Andy told me that the aerial masts are only about £16.00.

Went to the main dealer, bought a new one, fitted it in 10mins, works perfectly.

You could always try to fix it!

Regards

David
