Well, there seems to be some doubt that the F1 season will even begin, as the Oz GP has now been called off, the Bahrain GP is in doubt, as is the Vietnam race.

Just think of the financial problems the FIA now faces - reimbursement, lost income for the teams, wrangling over contractual obligations, problems with sponsors who are losing publicity they've paid for, drivers being paid even though they're not racing ... I can see the spats and the rumblings going on all year.

Sure about that? Current news to public here is it is still on. Seems there is a large state of confusion. See https://wwos.nine.com.au/motorsport...onavirus/a8b76770-8aa2-486f-8778-181fc2137017

... and if the season does eventually start, having lost a significant number of races due to the coronavirus pandemic, the manufacturers and drivers titles will be skewed because teams will effectively be robbed of their in-season development opportunities. Knock-on effects will make any final victory seem hollow.

Gonna be a strange F1 year.

Apparently Seb and Kimi had left before they announced the race has been cancelled

Interesting implications for some of the more cash strapped teams who use race fees to fund themselves.

Waffle from the Spanish Grand Prix Officials:

"Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will continue monitoring the evolution of the pandemic, staying in permanent contact with the different bodies and health authorities in order to continue implementing the applicable measures and recommendations, ensuring the health and safety of our visitors."

What exactly does all that mean?

Why not just say that? Hate bafflespeak.
They have to put a statement out but don’t have anything to say as they’ve not made a decision so they put out confusing bafflespeak.

They’re not the only ones doing it lots of events and the like are doing the same. Waiting for someone else to make the decision for them

They are all huddled in a bar together drinking red wine and Sangria spreading Corona while discussing what to do next ;-).

Spanish and Dutch Grand Prix are postponed to some indeterminate time, "summer break" I'd hazard.
Both are looking to honour tickets already sold, but no word on their position regarding refunds if a ticket holder is unable to attend the rescheduled race.

The Summer Break is happening now, all F1 teams have been told to shut for 21 days

Azerbaijan GP on 7th June postponed and the Canadian GP a week later under threat.

Very optimistic for F1 chief Chase Carey to say he expects between 15 -18 races (out of 22) to take place when racing resumes.

I think 5 - 8 races is optimistic!!!
