With the revitalised F1 season having started,we now have the MotoGP season starting this weekend.

Question is,will the new rules help to bring a few others into contention,or will it be Rossi v Stoner again (which is fine unless Casey Moaner returns)?

From the test results,it looks as if this will be the case.As the season settles down,we may see the likes of Elias,Hayden,Pedroso & Dovizioso step foward, but one dark horse from the off for me is Giberneau.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Took my stepson to the Riders For Health day at Donnington a few years ago & queued for what seemed like hours so he could get his cap signed.Got to the front & Rossi asked if he'd ever been to one of these days before, what about practice, qualifying, raceday, which other riders he liked, yeah photo no problem etc.All the time he was smiling & making eye contact.
It probably lasted 30 secs or so,& he was doing his job,but even now that he's a 17yr old yoof,he still talks about that day & has that cap on his wall.

Another big MotoGP fan here:D Far more excitement than F1 even with the new rules this season.

Sete Gibernau ? Not a chance. Rossi destroyed him and he should have stayed retired after finishing 13th overall at the end of 2006 . Not even sure why he is coming back to race at the back.

Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa would be my dark horses provided they can stay on their bikes:wink: Once again, I think it will be Rossi v the Ducatis of Stoner and Hayden.
I believe that the Ducatis will be more competitive this season and Rossi won't have it all his own way on the corners. That is the strength of the Yamaha and the reason Stoner couldn't stay with Rossi last season IMO.

Anyway, looking forward to this season with great anticipation.

My dough's on Rossi...

Stacey Moaner is very quick but I'm not sure if he's got the heart or racecraft to beat Vale - it's definately Rossi/Stoner.

I don't think any of the others have the consistancy to run all the way through the series but Dovizioso would be a good outside bet.

Couldn't agree more. It was all over before it started with the way Rossi mentally destoyed him. I'm amazed Gibernau's not swaying back and forth in a chair in a retirement home. He must be broke having blown all his money on psychiatrists.

Think I was wrong about Giberneau too.He hasn't carried over his good testing form at all.

In the 125's-could this be the year that Bradley Smith makes the breakthrough?
