Missing my motorcycling since I started dialysis 2 months ago. But hopefully I will be back out on the bike next year, once all my dialysis treatment is sorted.

A bit wetter on my run home today - to start with it was torrential… dried out later on though and a really nice ~280 mile ride

I took a 1300GS out today whilst my 1250GSA was in for service. Second one I’ve tried, much better than the first - still feels small (like a 600).
It rides and handles very well, screen is very small with little weather protection.
Ive had 4 x GSA’s so the GS feels very small in comparison. I’ll try a 1300GSA when they get one in, it will have to be very good though (if I’m to change) as the 1250GSA has been excellent (and still is)

3 punctures in 1 ride… all at the same time. 2 fixed with mushrooms, the large tear had to use the string repair kit. Little rechargeable pump did its job well.
I think this tyre is just unlucky, 4 punctures in total in 3,500 miles so it will be getting replaced tomorrow.

£161 later and a new rear hoop :)

Shortish 150 run on it today, confidence inspiring and grips well. My heated grips, seat and waistcoat were nice to have on :)

Guys, I have a couple of leathers that belonged to my no.2 son. He no longer rides road bikes, so wondered what to do with them? Do bikers buy pre loved leathers?

Yes they do, Faceache Marketplace is a good place to sell. As long as they’re not completely knackered they’ll sell

Also if you have a local bike shop/training school you may get lucky, they would consider buying from you or, know someone who may want it, as learners are usually looking for cost effective kit

Renewed the insurance today with Devitt, paying what I paid last year.

Will get it booked in for an MOT and service (even though they say it needs nowt).

Devitt couldn’t get me a deal this year :( AXA who were insuring it last year stopped the product so Devitt couldn’t offer it - their other renewal was £278 more than last year…
Went with Bennett’s at £334 which was £50 less than last year for the GSA. CBR was £79, £4 more than last year so just renewed that with Swinton.

I was going to call Bennett’s also as they were quoting well on that comparison site but, thought sod it and gave Devitt a call and after 30 mins they dropped the quote to just over £20 more than what Bennett’s would be, so thought sod it, proceed and let me get off the phone.

I’m paying £249 fully comp with legal cover, ride any bike, eu cover, protected ncb. I just removed personal accident on the basis that i don’t really use the bike sadly.

I'm itching to get some miles on this when I get back.

I'm sure it will start raining as soon as I do.

I'm always up for a ride, as long as it stays on tarmac
