"The Oil Pump is not working correctly at the moment there is no oil pressure "

Surely this will put quite a few off bidding? Why not fix before selling would seem the obvious question.

I also think that putting "no time wasters" puts people off bidding.

If the oil pump wasn't working, why was he running the engine so the tappets got noisy? Surely, if the oil pressure went to zero, he wouldn't have run it until it was fixed? It would seem common sense, even to me.

Or am I just being stupid?

"The Oil Pump is not working correctly at the moment there is no oil pressure which has led to the tappets being noisy. "

I reckon there are a few details missing from this sentence, such as ..... the main and big end bearings being destroyed, the cylinders being scored and the engine being damaged possibly beyond repair.

You can run an engine for a short while with no coolant but not even for a short while with no oil before it is irrevokably damaged.

Running the engine for long enough to determine that the hydraulic tappets have no oil in them and are therefore noisy is almost certainly enough time to severely damage the rest of it.

I don't think he has any need of help from any "time wasters",he has wasted his own time advertising the car for sale in this state.

Regards,
Nick.
