2014 Mercedes S350
Had quite a few
2014 Mercedes S350
2010 Mercedes S350
2010 Mercedes C220
2008 Mercedes C220
2006 Mercedes S320
2005 Mercedes CLK55
2003 Mercedes CL55
2001 Mercedes CL500

Haven't had that many problems, and the ones which I have had were fixed by Mercedes without much argument. No one really has a problem with the local dealership. After reading about other dealerships and having a mishap when buying my newest Mercedes, glad that this dealership is my local one.

W204 2010 C350 CDI
Now in a W212 C350 CDI 125 Edition Sport.

I've had umpteen BMW's, the last being an E70 2011 X5. Hard ride but customer service is WAY above Mercedes-Benz.

I've had a particularly bad experience with the half arsed MB dealer I bought my W212 from recently. Saying that, I've experienced the same with certain BMW dealerships!

I'm on my third:

W124.200E died at 246'000miles. Beautiful boring car to drive, I miss the armchair.

W210.E200 died at 194'000 miles, too expensive to fix all the bits for Irish NCT. May she rust in piece.

W211 E200....87'000 miles caught an SBC+Timing Chain diesease at the same time. Currently in intensive care.

Can you spot a trend in the above?

ML350Cdi BE but now a Q3
3 now......

2009 CLS.......Brilliant car, economical, fast, silent and fun to drive quick if required.

2012 ML350....Not such a good car, drove OK, trim rattled over anything other than billiard tables, felt not so good to drive as other 4X4 I have had.

2013 Audi A6 Hybrid no longer here, far better trim and general perceived quality than the MB's I am afraid, very comfortable ride (surprising for an Audi I know, must be the Hybrid weight?) and silent in progress (petrol engine/Hybrid system).

2012 E220.....(current) Pretty good actually, drives lovely, comfortable (not AMG sports suspended) and quiet unless you accelerate!

2014 Audi Q3 (current)...well we needed another 4X4 for the muddy farm tracks!

I would definitely have another MB, or Audi, or BMW.........depends which model doesn't it? Manufacturers have good and bad in all ranges.

For the fun of it can I chirp in with 1 MB and for 8 days (at the time of writing)! Has anyone owned one for *less* time than that.

Previously I've had 3 BMWs for over 20 years, most recently a 2002 330d for 13yrs (brilliant, did everything I wanted). I did consider the latest 330d new.

As for new car dealers, I can't say I've been totally impressed with any. Most disappointingly I emailed 2 MB dealers, asking for a sales brochure and neither even bothered replying - one even after I'd been for a test drive with them. A strange way to go about getting custom.
BMW aren't any better in my experience, they range from not doing work correctly, to not phoning back, to not sticking to a quote for work to be done (until I complained).
I would mention 1 MB used car dealer who I bought from and who's customer experience was exemplary. Fingers crossed it stays that way when it comes to servicing. Not sure if I'm allowed to mention names?

2002 A160,W210 E430 estate and a king of kings.... W215 CL600 BI TURBO
Had a brand new 1999 E200 (well it was my partner who had it on a lease deal when I met her and it was two years old at the time) was a great car at the time as it was the showroom demo so had every option, since had a 1990 E 300 AMG coupe , A 1993 W140 S500 ex John barnes (the footballer)... That was where my love of S class started, then a W140 1995 CL500, next a 200o W210 E430 avantgard estate dressed as a E55 (dont ask but its a battered looking one that is probably one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned... now with ove 180k on it and still driving great).... and now another S class, A 2002 CL600 BI TURBO.... Oh NOW THATS A MOTOR :))))

5 Mercs for me (& 4 BMW's)
Current car is W251 (R Class)- had it since 2009, & I'm not bored with it yet.
Wifes car is BMW630- Had it since 2006- still drives lovely

Not had a problem with either Main dealers- both have been helpful, although now the cars are knocking on a bit age wise, we use a local indy to save on exorbitant main dealer servicing costs.

MERCs
1997 model E230E- Loved it! my first merc 3 yrs old when I got it...loved the gun sight on the front! Felt like James Bond in it
CLK200 auto 2003 (didnt like that to be honest. Flimsy with bad road manners)
E240 Estate auto 2001- didnt like engine on that, underpowered with lumpy gear changes
E230 CDI 2003- loved that! kept it 6 years- changed for current car cos I was bored- It was really quick, so was a bit spoiled when I got R thingy- seemed ponderous in comparison, but one day I had to floor loud pedal to overtake & it moved... I mean really moved!
R320CDI LWB- 2007 still have it- its been fine & has got good road presence (ugly appearance from front though) Its a bit "analogue" & was stunned my model didn't have xenon headlights- it can move at some lick when you want it to- surprisingly quick for a heavy car- mileage excellent 31.8mpg over 50k miles (mainly motorway)

BMW
316- (wifes first beemer
325CI-(wifes) Looked like a pimpmobile , but nice car
728i- Got that after 230E- Loved it too. A big barge and a bit wallowy on country B roads- but again, excellent car
630i Wifes current car- I think its one of the best cars to drive.. smooth, sounds lovely, excellent road manners.

Not had any negative experiences with either main dealers - quite the opposite.

Had numerous BMWs over the years, from 318iS', M3 Evo (E36), M3 Evo convertible (with the awful SMG1 box), E46 M3 convertible, E92 335i Convertible (awful!) etc... Now on my 3rd Mercedes, first was an R230 sl500, now I have an r230 SL55 and a 2008 C220 cdi sport! Both are fantastic cars, the diesel is great for an everyday and the SL is superb in the summer (although costly to maintain). Looking for my hatrick at the moment in the form of a 190e!

On my second now. Had a C220 Coupé on contract hire (2013, brand new at the time).

Now bought a 2006 SLK280 outright - and prefer it!

In the past year : 3 w208, 1 w220. My 320d M sport company car is gone due to serious engine issues. I now have a w208 320 and my other half drives a e39 525M Sport.
I now have 2 options : w220 500 or w211 500. Before Easter as car are getting cheaper.
