I think my rear shocks (00 C180 75K) could do with replacing, They sqeak a bit (usually when dry) and I suspect the handling could be better.

Checking the Haynes Manual, seems replacing them DIY is pretty straightforward, Any one done it, Any advice, thinking about the Bilstein shocks from Eurocarparts.

Cheers

Yes, I've done mine.A straight forward job as per the Haynes manual.Working alone I found I had to use a jack under the suspension arm to align the shock bolt hole on reassembly.

Ask someone to drive the car down a bumpy road whilst you follow behind in another vehicle. Bumpy are easy to find, plent of them. A defective shock absorber will become obviously apparent.
