I would be interested to know of the ride with the 18" alloys, of the difference of sound from the sports exhaust, and whether the lowered suspension was noticeable.
Any views would be appreciated.

Best option will be to try it out. I have 18" AMG wheels on my 'E' which along with the lowered Avantgarde suspension made the ride very uncomfortable. I have the standard 16" wheels put on and very happy with the ride. However you may be perfectly happy with the ride and prefer the look of the 18" so ensure you get a decent lenght test drive before you hand over the folding

I have a current CLK 320 Avantgarde with 17" wheels. The ride is fractionally firmer than the standard 16" alloys but not at all objectionable.

However, 18" might be a hard ride. Testing would be a must before buying.

Blobcat and Benzman,
Much appreciate your replies.
I am considering replacing my Clk 200 in December and did not want at this stage to get involved with the dealer.
Usually I only do short trips, so from what you say I could probably live with the harder ride if I thought the looks compensated.
