Both of the above are good and reliable, but I suspect that if you cannot move the vehicle it is going to be a problem to get it to them, and it is a little far for them to come out to you.

On a 2001 car (if you have MB service history) you will still be covered by Mobilo and they will come out free of charge and try to rectify the fault. If they are not able to, they will transport your car to the nearest dealer and provide you with a similar car until yours is repaired at their expense. You of course will have to pay for the repairs, but this may be a cheaper option.

If your car is not covered by Mobilo, are you a member of the AA, RAC etc?

Hi, yes have fsh, ...merc approved last one done by auto technic at chedgrave, they wanted it for a week at least to sort out this prob, as they had no idea...(same as me and Im not merc trained!)...so didnt fancy giving then £54 an hour to guess!. with due respect....I can do that.
so could you give me more details on the mobilo thing, please, as fairly new to mercedes, Im not the original owner, does that make a difference to mobilo cover?
Thanks Again.

I am not sure that Autotechnic is Merc approved. I know that they are MB trained (ex Robinsons), but the Mobilo cover states that servicing should be carried out by MB approved (read dealer).

However definitely worth a try, ring Mobilo and see. Have your service book to hand and even if they don't mention it bring it up as you don't want a surprise bill!

Tel number 00800 1777 7777

And no it does not matter that you are not the original owner. I have found them to be absolutely brilliant on both occassions I have had to use them.

Best of luck.

Must say I can't remember any excessive charges from calling Mobilo which I did from the car (mobile) on both occassions. They were very efficient, the original call lasting less than a minute, and then they phoned me back to let me know what they were doing about the problem, and to keep me informed as to ETA etc.

Made from mobile in France when I needed assitance with failed poly v-belt, which was only replaced by a MB dealership - as a PRECAUTION during a service, TWO weeks prior to trip.

Oh, and because the car had been serviced ONCE since new, by an Indie (previous owner) - NO Mobilo cover..!!! Good job I had AA Euro cover, wasn't it?

Hi again, everyone,Thanks for you advice...two questions before I ring though, I replaced fuel linies myself, will that have any bearing on cover by mobilo?
Also vehicle is a 2001...is this covered as I beleive its 2004 onwards, but may be wrong,! hope so.
Cheers.

Ring anyway and ask, you only loose the cost of the phone call. Replacing the fuel lines should have no bearing on the current problem, and don't mention it.

The only issue is the service history, does the one service by Autotechnic invalidate your warranty? There have been cases on here of people being successful with broken history so worth a try!

Mobilo started at the end of 1998 so a 2001 should be covered.

THIS is what happened - with NO thanks to Mobilo - and GRATEFUL Thanks to AA Euro Cover.

Embarassing or what?
