anyone see this happen before

i was having a look around my engine,monitering the oil leak that i have, and i noticed the tensioner pulley was wobbling a bit,so i took the belt of etc,and this is what i found,heres some pics,

That would sure make it wobbly

it wasnt reall that bad wobbling,its only when i took the pulley off it just fell apart,it was just in time,i dont know what damage would of happened if i hadnt spotted it

i had the same thing on my last 124 probably a common fault as most mercs have the belt tensioner

It could have gone through the rad,, you could have been miles from home, no water pump,no power steering, no charging, and in a hot flap as no AC
