I am thinking about two new front wings for my facelift 210. I see ECP do 3 different priced wings.
OE quality is 215pounds. Another wing not named 154pounds, & Platinum wing 133pounds.
Has anyone bought or have any experience of quality & fit of the cheaper wings compared to the more expensive wings. Also how do they compare to MB wings.

I have just fitted two in the last week.

The cheapest ones they do, made in Taiwan. They are a very good fit, and did not require any fettling. It says on the box they are galvanised.

Compared to the OEM...no rust.;-)

Nice to know there is a good replacement out there, do you have any idea of what the difference is between the 3, or are they all different manufactures

Well judging by the way the originals rusted they would seem to be the ones to avoid !
MB parts diehards surely can't defend 210's panels.......... can they ????????

I too would be interested to know what the differences are between the 3 of them.

Yep they were just under £100, plus £6 to deliver to NI ! Delivery is free to most of the rest of the UK.

As far as Im aware the OEM wing is original MB, just a bit cheaper, the mid price wing is from their long term supplier, and the platinum plus wing is a new range, just introduced by ECP, thru an American company...Have a feeling they may be the ones who have taken over ECP recently..and they are now going big into the bodyshop market, But there are cheaper panels out there and as already said the Tiawan panels have been excellent since they came onto the market many moons ago.
Most aftermarket panels on the market today are a good fit. a big improvement on the Pop on Panels from many years ago

A wing can be treated before fitting including dressing all sharp edges before painting.

Sharp edges have never been a problem with any panels..ie the painting or treatment off.. It was something I'd never heard of until I came on to this forum when some idiot somewhere in the MB conglomerate came up with the idea that sharp edges could not be properly painted and caused rust. total bunkum..
OOps well they have cut my fingers at times and a lot of other body guys fingers as well..

Yep, I got a couple of cuts handling my new wings. I did sand down the edges a bit before priming and rust proofing. They will last longer than I will have this car...now ready for paint.

The worst part of the job was the cutting out and patching the rust in the inner wings.

Sharp edges cannot be painted well.

Well i can paint them well, and im sure every other paint shop can as well..yes you do get people who will fit up a new wing. mask it off and prime and paint it, but they are the exception and not the rule...But when you have a major motor manufacturer using sharp edges as an excuse for rusting then you really do need to take it with a pinch of salt.

How did you manage to get stone chips on your inner wings, to cause all the corrosion:p:lol:
