Apple car play not connecting to iPhone after ios14 update

Grrrrr!
As per the title. it's been working flawlessly but since the update to ios14 the car doesn't recognise the phone.
Ive restarted the phone and turned the car off and back on but when I start car play the screen just says no device found!
Computer says no

Not with Apple car play but with other connectivity I seemed to have past troubles with updates and loss of functionality. The only fix seemed to be to delete the phone from the car , then reinstall....
Someone else may be along shortly with a much brighter suggestion hopefully !

Yes, thanks John. I already tried that but it can't find the phone even though connected via usb. I've changed the lead too
I usually wait a few days before updating to allow them to sort the bugs out but I had some time this morning....

I had some Bluetooth issues with one of the V13 updates, I had to delete then find the connections again. No issues (as yet) with V14...

I've had the developer version of ios14 for a few months now and never had any issues connecting to bluetooth in the W222 or to my aftermarket carplay system... works flawlessly

its normal.... wait three revision before ever updating an apple if Bluetooth functionality is important...

it'll be OK in 3 months... except when other updates like 13.4 and 13.6 break it too (mid run failures - a new lucky extra they've been hard at work perfecting)

@ Barry pop this in google and see how many others agree with you?

Well, it's working again but I have no idea why.
I have done a couple of turning the phone off tries, told it to forget the car etc and suddenly it's back on.
That's no help to anyone else who has the same problem but it may offer some encouragement to keep trying.

there does appear to be issues for a lot of people, but as I said, I've not had any issues at all and neither has my son. I use bluetooth in the Class both for the in car phone system and connecting to the aftermarket car play. I use in at home and I use it for connecting to various test kit I use at work and had no issues... maybe I'm just lucky!!
