Tailgating me is useless, I don't react and I don't speed up either, the only thing getting sped up is the tailgater's heart rate.

Why don't you just let him get past you and get on with life.....? If someone behind me is in a hurry I make space for them to get going - much safer that way.

I also hate them (tail haters) and if there is no possibility for them to pass, I will slow down or put the hazards on for a few seconds - usually works but, I always endeavour to let them get by even if it means pulling over somewhere - less annoying for me.

The beauty of automatic transmission is left-foot braking... a quick stab with the left foot and then a stab on the loud pedal opens a nice gap. 2 or 3 of them and the taligater usually gives up - but if you join a dual carriageway he floors it and with any luck he gets flashed by a camera...

btw: Years ago. COM1C was owned by Tommy Trinder. I'm old enought to have heard him on the radio telling the story how he found the car in a car sales garage in Wales. I vaguely recall that he bought the car, took the number and told them they could keep the car!

Yes, I know - I was just pointing out who had it previously!

On a less serious note there was a TR7 around Harrow when I lived there with a genuine plate PEN15
- It got moved on (to a TVR I think). I often wondered how appropriate the plate actually was!
