I was wonding if anyone had any thoughts on this problem I have.
I recently purchased a approved 2008 Mercedes C220 Sport with just 6,000 from one of the main London dealers. I have since noticed the horn did not work so I took it into my local Merc dealer and was told ' did you realise this car has been in a front end accident?' They then showed me that there was parts missing from the bumper (ie: headlamp washer missing) and overspray in various locations. I have now been told that these problems will not be covered by the warranty.
The Mercedes global register has also been checked and there is no information of this work being carried out.
Now they have mentioned this I did notice a few months back when washing the car that the number plate was poorly fixed and slight paint has been flaking from the grill but did not think too much of it.
I have had the car about four months now and I have done around 4K miles.
I have spoken to the dealer and also head office but they said it will take a few days to look into but I was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences.
Obviously my main concern is:
1. Any other problems occur with car they can use the excuse of the accident to not make a repair under warranty
2. Do I really want a car that has had a front end crash without knowing exactly what happend?
Finally, I bought this car as an approved Mercedes so it took the risk from buying private. If I had bought it private and seen it had been in an accident I would not of touched it.
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
