aps 30 to comand 2.0 does it need coding

Hi all,

i have a 2001 clk with audio 30 aps, i have directions on my instrument cluster and navi option in my menu, i am changing to comand 2.0 will my car need re coding or will it be fine as the car is already set up for nav?

i would say it will need recoding as the MOST ring will be set to your audio 30, adding new items to the MOST ring, ie a diff head unit the ring will need to know what to look for!!!

Your car is a 2001 model so it will be D2B based not MOST.

If you already have the Navigation display enabled in the cluster then you dont actually need any coding done at all. Comand will see any other D2B devices you have on the ring, such as Bose, Phone or Cd changer. To do the whole job properly you should ideally code the D2B ring but its not essential.
