All,

Just started (not finished though) the serpentine belt change on my 320CE.

Those CD manuals were next to useless........not even any good as coasters.

What I don't need after waiting 10 minutes for the PC to boot-up is to hear that all you have to do to complete the job is "remove, replace". A monkey could have provided more helpful instructions.

I thought the Haynes manual was hopeless......I'll look at it in a different light now....

In my industry (Aerospace) the Manuals are written by the least-skilled engineer, given the least amount of time and the absolute minimum budget...........looks like they work that way in Stutgart too.

Hi Paul
Where did you get the C.D's fron. I work within the world of M.B and find that are workshop information system goes the other way, they give us go much basic info. I was not aware of an after market C.d set on sale, who made the C.Ds
Good luck with your belt

Maybach,

The CDs are copies of the US workshop E series manual, bought on ebay last year.

Detailed they are certainly NOT!

If you have something with too much info, I would certainly be interested in that......

I had the same problem:
Bought some CD's for my SL320 from Ebay, the guy said their full of info / details etc.
When I got them, they where useless. These are the "Mitchell on Demand System" from the USA. :(
I then purchased a genuine MB EPC (electronic parts catalog) for the SL (W129), again from Ebay. :D
I know its only a parts catalog, but the info is good, exploded view etc.
I used this to find out where the main cable trunking was, to run cables for my Sat Navi system, no problem.
I am now on the look out for the "WIS" cd set for my SL and A170 models.

Once bitten, twice shy......
