hi guys, i,m totally brand new on here and also to mercs.just bought a 2005 c200 cdi auto sport.must say that it seems tame compared to i was expecting,but that said i,m happy with it.is the c220 the same engine or am i right in thinking it is bigger in capacity.also anything i need to keep an eye out for??

Hello and welcome,, both cars use the 646 engine, but the 220 is bored out slightly bigger,,popular cars here on the forum

thanks for the reply, well thats me gutted then!!! :sad: that wil explain why mine feels a little steady,is there a big difference between them?? is there anything you can think of to look out for? i,m a mechanic and gave it full hit service and brakefluid,didn,t see anything wrong but prior knowledge always helps!!

The best thing that works well is to chip it,,you get the max effect from a diesel

can you recommend any company? i had my audi tdi chipped and it was a very good gain in torque.i could do with trying to find someone who,s had it done and see what they think of the difference.

we do have one guy that post on the forum,,hoping that some one else will come in here as diesels are not my line.

Try a search at the top of the screen, type in chipping and see what comes up. we had a long thread on this subject recently

I thought about it after i posted,, well I hardly ever answer diesel post,, thank you for that,,so could it be chipped up to say a 240-250

no, the engine control module is a diff part number, but can be chipped, and makes a good car once it is!!!
