What is the differences between Regular and Super diesel ? is it worth the extra cost ? what is the advantage of using it ? And have you noticed any difference with your vehicle I have a 06 320 used mainly for short trips, would using Super fuel be any advantage ?

An old B-Class.
BP Ultimate in wife's B-Class as well. Car runs smoother and less DPF regen issues (we mainly use the car for very short trips)!

The only difference I noticed when I ran on a couple of tankfulls of Shell V Power premium diesel was the DPF filled and regenerated at around 300 Mile intervals as opposed to 400 Mile intervals with standard BS EN590 Diesel from my local ASDA, there were no other noticeable changes and I've used standard fuel ever since, OM advises to use BS EN590.

I think older diesels that was true. Modern diesels require so much emissions control to make them acceptable that the complexity required introduces unreliability.
EGRs are a classic example. EGRs on petrol engines work very reliably and rarely give trouble. On diesels they are often a source of problems due to the soot produced.

Ahhh the old chestnut again.

I have only ever used ultimate, cars seem to tick smoother, the difference is the additive package that they put in the fuel.

You'd probably be better with Millers diesel additive that contains cetane. I used to use it in my Defender 300tdi and it definitely improved it.

Read that the cost of adding RedX to fuel is about the same as paying the extra 10p a Ltr at the pump, just saves you having to remember to put in in the tank,

When I started at Nissan I asked one of the powertrain engineers about this. His response was that in a standard passenger car engine setup, it really didn’t make any ssort of difference that the normal driver could detect.

My Defender had a hybrid turbo with increased boost, modified fuelling and a full sized intercooler....

Always use Regular, fuel is dear enough without them taking some out and putting a cheap additive in then charging more
