- 2018 E Class E350e plug in hybrid
Strange thing is that an E Class SE has leather but an AMG (style) which is almost £ 3k more has Artico.
2010 E350 , 115K miles Artico seats as new .
There's always the exception to the rule .....
This was my R Class's driver's seat ... IIRC around 70k Artico is just vinyl by another name
I will post some pictures up when I get a chance, it will give me a excuse to give the seats a quick clean.
I use this stuff, as the seats have the little perforations , it works a treat

If your car has Articrap, then it's a placebo effect .....
The moral of this story is, don't complain to Mercedes, go to your nearest NHS hospital instead!Ive just had plastic surgery on my face which looks better than this !
MB Tex - back in the day was as hard wearing as granite - probably why they stopped it... lasted too long...Mutton dressed as lamb...
Unfortunatle MB obv using cheaper products to look like leather to give customer the feel good factor.
Totally agree these should not be falling apart after 4 years.
I think its sadly a new product launched without the company doing tests on it to see how long it lasts or what care products should be used.
So was Artico, they appeared to have changed the formula of Artico in the last few years and it's now useless.MB Tex - back in the day was as hard wearing as granite - probably why they stopped it... lasted too long...
With the way the world appears to be going it seems utter madness to me to make things that are more disposable. The constant replacement to keep shareholders and accountants happy is depleting resources and adding immeasurably to worldwide emissions. So was Artico, they appeared to have changed the formula of Artico in the last few years and it's now useless.
My driver’s seat looks a mess on my 5 year old s205. Are there any restorers based in / near Lancashire?
Thanks all,
Craig
