Do MB brake pads still have asbestos in it and if not what is it made off?
Asbestos has been banned from car products for decades. The brake pads tend to use metal fillers now.
Thanks.
you never know with cheaper parts as diagnostic software or Haynes manual always issue warning about asbestos when handling brake pads.
first day of spring been cleaning the inside of wheels, checking suspension and brakes, at the end of the day black stuff inside nostrils
How did you clean the wheels? I always hose them down thoroughly before washing them with a micro-fibre mitt. Once wet there will be no dust to inhale..
take out the wheel, clean inside with a cloth until you see the painted alloy.
I do not understand all of the fuss, if you never use your brakes then your wheels stay like this, I never have to clean mine
yes, I find that, and pad and disc life is greatly improved too.
Absolutely Alex, my disc are over 50k miles now and like new
Perhaps all the brake dust is going into the air filter housing :lol:
