Do MB brake pads still have asbestos in it and if not what is it made of?

Asbestos has been banned from car products for decades. The brake pads tend to use metal fillers now.

Thanks.

you never know with cheaper parts as diagnostic software or Haynes manual always issue warning about asbestos when handling brake pads.

No one is allowed to sell anything with asbestos in it these days, the book prints that as a safety precaution

Just to say that any finely divided material is a potential carcinogen if inhaled. Which is why the warnings about not using compressed air to clean the calipers etc..

How did you clean the wheels? I always hose them down thoroughly before washing them with a micro-fibre mitt. Once wet there will be no dust to inhale..

I do not understand all of the fuss, if you never use your brakes then your wheels stay like this, I never have to clean mine

yes, I find that, and pad and disc life is greatly improved too. :D

Not forgetting the fuel economy which will be at 70mpg if you don't use the brakes
