Recently had the first (A) service done on the car.

After the service, the Assyst showed "A service in 365 days". Fine, I thought, although surely should be a "B".

Today, 35 days later, it announces "C service in 330 days"

What's going on? (Haven't been abusing the engine --no more than usual ;) ).

It would seem not. :(

Can't see why it should choose "C" though ? 5Apart from it being more? expensive).

Maybe more has come up during that 35 day period, what does it say in the book that could have come up at your mileage

Can't see anything that would provoke that.
Haven't done enormous mileage. :(

Unless someone else comes in on it, all I can think of is that MB need your money more than you

Has the OP actually checked what the C service entails? There are services from A to H (I think). A higher letter does not necessarily mean more of an expense. I had a C service done recently on my B160, and the cost was the same as a standard B service.

We have to at times ignore the assyst plus lettering system. It really is ridiculous. It's always best to check the service manual and check what exactly is due at the next service and try to tie it up that way. Many just hit the full service button when resetting the service indicator, and this will never reset assyst plus correctly

The last time I was at the dealer's, I did notice that the salesman's trousers were rather shiny round the knees.

Hi for my car a c service entails "change of brake fluid" whuch is needed every 2 years. This may be the reason.
