Below is the reply I've just received when I queried why my E320Cdi had been subjected to a glycol test just prior to me collecting it from the MB dealer up North as an approved used purchase. To recap, the work below was carried out at 36000 miles and it's now 7 months later and done 46000 miles and sems to be OK.

Any thoughts appreciated before it goes for a "B" service at MB Birmingham on 10th Jan and I therefore have the opportunity to discuss it with them.

From the Sales Manager
Having inspected the job card I can confirim the following :

The fault reported by our sales department was poor gear changes. After road testing & various checks on the transmission a gycol test was carried out.
As per Mercedes Benz technical information the transmission oil & filter were renewed, torque convertor & oil lines flushed and finally the radiator renewed.
The vehicle was then road tested with the transmission performing normally.(The torque convertor is to be renewed only if problems still persist)
I have posted a copy of the sales preperation invoice for your records

Their response was the standard one sent out, and it looks fine to me, if the car is OK I would be happy with that
