Attempting to remove the front bumper on my 92 300ce 24v!

Attempting to remove the front bumper on my 92 300ce 24v. The retaining bolts on the left hand side are obstructed by the oil cooler. Any advice on how to get the oil cooler out would be most welcome. I've removed the wheel arch liner to get at the cooler. Since then I've spent a couple of hours under the car scratching my head and getting nowhere fast. The cooler is mounted within a rubber housing that seems to funnel air from a grill in the lower spoiler over the cooler. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to disassemble the thing without the application of a large lump hammer.

I havew a leaking cooler and will face the same issues, I'm guessing. If I manage to get the cooler out, I'll let you know how it is done. My car is a 90 300TE-24 though...
